The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 appropriated funds to each state for the establishment and administration of appliance rebate programs. At program launch on February 12, 2010, the Georgia fund had $8,642,490. This is a first-come-first-served rebate program and the guidelines for qualifying models are as follows:
- Minimum Energy Factor (EF) of .62
- Minimum First Hour Rating (FHR) of 67 gallons
